2 Wii: Nintendo announces : the launch of its new console for 2012

The Japanese video game giant Nintendo said on Tuesday the launch of a new home console. Its commercialization in 2012.


Nintendo has announced the launch next year of home console Wii 2. A model playable on the Wii 2 will be presented in early June at the show "Electronic Entertainment Expo", Los Angeles (USA). The Japanese giant has, however, gave no details about the new game console.

According to several rumors, the Wii 2 should support high definition and also 3D. The new controllers may also incorporate a touch screen 6 inches.

Since its launch in 2006, Nintendo has sold nearly 86 million Wii. However, the product is now facing strong competition from Sony's PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 from Microsoft. Two consoles that use a system of detention without any motion controller.
In just four months, moreover Microsoft sold over 10 million Kinect, the motion detection system for its Xbox console.
Sony and Microsoft do not provide, however, no new release until 2014.

Nintendo also announced this week for the second consecutive year, a fall in annual profit due to lower sales. The Japanese giant has passed during its last fiscal year ending in March, only 15.1 million Wii, against 20.1 million the previous year. Nintendo expects a further decline in sales this year.
