Toyota-BMW: Agreement for green technologies

Manufacturers Toyota and BMW have announced have reached an agreement for collaboration in environmental technologies including the lithium-ion batteries. BMW will also supply diesel engines to Toyota.
We announced a few days ago, Toyota and BMW will work together on a new generation of technology lithium-ion batteries.Both manufacturers took advantage of the Tokyo Motor Show to formalize their future collaboration "medium to long term." They have also not ruled out the possibility "to identify and discuss other possible projects for collaboration."
The Bavarian manufacturer may therefore benefit from the advances made in the field of green technology and the hybrid with its Japanese counterpart. "Toyota is the leading technology provider of environmentally friendly series on the volume segment," said BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer.

In addition, the agreement provides that BMW's diesel engines 1.6 and 2.0 to Toyota in 2014. These blocks will equip some models of Japanese brand for the European market. "Providing our Toyota diesel engines efficient and dynamic is another important step in the expansion program of our business for engines and drive trains" Norbert Reithofer welcomed.
