Google is preparing an x86 version of Windows to counter Android 4

A group of Android developers announced support for the Google OS for smartphones and tablets in processor architectures x-86. The question of availability for netbooks arises. After the availability of the entire source code of Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) two weeks ago, Google and the Android developer community are determined to throw a stone in the garden of Windows, especially in the field laptops and netbooks in particular.
The first step of this new charge against Microsoft's flagship OS: the announcement of the availability of Android 4 for x-86 architectures. Are concerned, many families of processors provided by Intel as well (some models have been optimized for Android mid-November 4) AMD, including processors with "Brazos".
However, there is still work to do to compete with Windows in that significant improvements are still needed. Because for now, if the supports Wi-Fi, multi-point touch (multitouch) and OpenGL ES are in the game, this is not the case for audio, video, the Ethernet and hardware acceleration for Intel platforms.
Officially, 4 Android is not intended to replace Chrome OS
Before making the support of x-86 processors for Android 4, the group of volunteer developers belonging to the Android-x86.org movement has focused on earlier versions of the Google OS. Namely: Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and Android 3.2 (Honeycomb).
Providing support for x-86 architectures for Android 4, an essential course was taken. Because the specificity of this version of the operating system of Google is to unify the OS for smartphones and tablets to simplify and standardize the creation of applications made for these two types of platform. But also to focus the resources of Google and the Open Source community on a single OS Android. Well, almost.

Android OS Will it replace Chrome OS?

While Android OS is highlighted by Mountain View, can not be said of Chrome OS. Originally presented as the ultimate weapon against Google in Windows, its success, especially with the target companies, was only relative. If a new lease of life is promised by Google that focuses on a slow but steady adoption of its OS for years to come, the group has already expressed similar intentions for projects once described as porters but the setback was has been decided (Google Wave, Buzz ...).
Android OS he intended to replace Chrome OS, and sign the entry of Android netbooks on the market or desktop? Officially no, especially since it is not expected to see Chrome OS running on Linux systems, and even support Android applications. But the lack of success of Chromebooks (rate reductions of 15% is currently practiced by Acer as well as to sell Samsung models) could push Google to shift its strategy to the OS for mobile devices around netbooks, smartphones and touch pads. The announcement of support for processor architectures for Android-86 x 4 in this direction. Moreover, what types of processors are present in the Chromebooks? The Intel Atom, belonging to the family of x-86 processors. Small world, huh?
