Weather in thailand penalizes Western Digital

The hard drive manufacturer, Western Digital, announced that it had some supply problems hard disks, as a result of weather occurred in Thailand, which caused widespread flooding. Thailand is home to half of world production, according to Reuters including Seagate, Toshiba (which Western Digital would like to buy) or Hitachi.
The company is a leader in this sector and has announced that about 50 to 60 million units will be missing the last quarter of 2011. The number of disk drives available is about 120 million hard drives, while demand in this holiday season, amounts to nearly 180 million pieces.

The company has resumed its activity only partially, because some buildings are still flooded, and others being cleaned.
